Mommy Mondays: Brit-Nee & 5ivebyGrace

Happy Monday everyone!

I hope everyone had a blessed and happy holiday.

This week we have on the blog: Queen, blogger and SAHM  Brit-nee & 5ivebyGrace

(Destinee, Immanuel, Jeremih, Naomi & Noah)

At what age did you have your child (ren)?

I was 16, 20, 22, & 23 when I had my children.

What do you feel is the best part of being a mom?

Honestly, there are so many things that  I can say. The best part of being a mom to sum it up a bit, I’d say the unconditional love that my children give me, even when I feel like I don’t deserve it.  I have never felt love so pure and rewarding at the same time.  Also, witnessing their success and watching them grow!

What is your preference, being a SAHM or a Working mom?  (Please share your experience as it pertains to your choice.)

Okay, so for me, I can tell about both as I have experienced both sides. So, my preference is being a SAHM!  I prefer this because I feel that I need to be available 24/7 for my kids in every way there is to be there.  For example: when I was a working mom just barely making it to the school to pick them up, I would take them home and prepare dinner, do laundry, pick out clothes for the next day, tend to younger children in the shower/bath, homework, etc. There wasn’t enough time to tend to each child’s needs individually, as each child requires different things from their mother. Also, with that comes more stress on me having to do everything and, trying to juggle five kids at once. Their grades were dropping due to me being unable to continue studies in conjunction with the kids at home.  Being a SAHM, I can pick them up on time, have dinner ready by the time they get home, laundry and other household tasks are already completed.  I can now spend the time needed with each child, continuing studies from school and now they are all A-B students, YAY MOM!  Everything runs smoother, and I don’t miss a peep when it comes to mothering my five bundles of Joy.

Can you give us some tips on traveling with children?

Ok, so first, have a plan!  Since just about every trip is planned, your to-do list for the children should be planned as well.  Take your time when planning a to-do list.  While traveling, make sure you plan and be on time.  If you’re not on time when going, especially with children, your trip will be a disaster because you will already be stressed out. Believe it or not, your children can sense when you are stressed no matter how much you try to hide it and it’s like a trigger for them to automatically start their negative behaviors.  Make sure you pack medicines they may need such as cold, stomach, fever, allergy, etc. You never know if, or when they may need them.  Pack your child a small backpack filled with a few things they like to do like: a charged tablet, coloring book, headphones, their favorite toy, flash cards, etc. Just make sure it’s not too heavy for them because they will complain and ask you to carry it.  Mom’s, don’t forget your baby wipes! I cannot stress that enough; I don’t care how old they get, kids are messy!!

If you could choose one word to describe your parenting style, what would it be?

Authoritative

What is your go-to self-care regimen?

If I’m honest, I get on my knees in my prayer closet and pray.  The Lord is the only regimen I need!!

You are talking to yourself during your first pregnancy; what advice do you have for ' young Brit' being the mature mom you are today?

I would tell Young Brit that everything will be okay and that she was created for this purpose.  Mommin’ ain’t easy but, make it look like a walk in the park!!  Just remain in God girl!

Before we end, let’s play a quick game called Mommy ONE Word (Name Edition): (give the first word that comes to mind when you hear each name )
