Mommy Monday’s: The Woman behind R.I.B.

Happy Monday beautiful people!

After a successful first Mommy Monday last week, I decided to do a Q&A via Facebook. Feel free to join the fun or comment @raveledinblessings @shaynefeteria.

In order to connect with you all on another level, I thought I'd share my story. The purpose of Mommy Mondays is for us to connect as women, as individuals and, essentially as a village to raise these awesome beings God has blessed us with.

The Deets

I became a mother at the tender age of twenty.

As some of you may know, I became a mother of three last December.

My first two sons are about ten months apart (they enjoy being the 'same age' for two and a half months).

I did not know I was pregnant with my second son, Ajani, until I was twenty-eight weeks pregnant.

Ladies, be in tune with your bodies!

After having Carmelo, I did not know my body on top of using birth control--my body felt foreign to me. Come to find out, I had gotten a false negative and began taking the depo primavera shot while pregnant.

I LOVE surprises but, I attempted to find out each of my babies' sex prior to giving birth. The anxiety probably would have killed me!

If I could turn back the hands of time, I would ask my gynecologist what exactly she meant when she said ' whatever you do, do not bare down!'

During my first birth, I literally held Carmelo in instead of allowing him to naturally descend Down the birthing canal because I did not want to tear and no one explained what it meant to actually, bare down!

I am completely against sharing horrible birthing stories with pregnant, inquiring minds.

I have nursed for twenty-two months straight before making Ajani go 'cold turkey.'

Mamas, old, new, I advise you to nurse for as long as you can if possible. Please, please, please do not become frumpy but, wear sexy/chic items that make you look as great as your kid is cute!

Speak positivity over your life and that of  your child(ren).

Do not be afraid to ask for help so that you may rest.

Remember to keep your best foot forward, you are a mom! Being a mom should come with a manual but, it does not.

Sacrifice for your kid but, not at expense of your growth as a person!

Xoxo
