In with the New

Glasses, locks, new schedules...

We brought in the New Year with a few changes. Ajani has inherited my weak eyes and is now wearing glasses. In the hair department, Carmelo says 'NO' to braids, while saying 'Yes' to locs.

How are these changes going for us? ...

Sometimes Madblogger and I forget that Ajani wears glasses. When we reach our destination, one of us would say: 'Where are your glasses?' Meanwhile, we often fail to notice that they are not on his face before pulling out the driveway- WOMP! I must admit that leaving his glasses home sucks way less than the first week of being unable to keep up with his glasses.

What can I say? We are all working on improvement this year.

Mr. Carmelo, being the 'tender- headed' person that he is... asked if he could stop getting braids. One would say "Yes, one less head to do" but, I was waiting to hear what Carmelo had in mind. This kid thinks about way more than I dreamt he would at the age of 7.

Carmelo: Mom can we never braid my hair again?

Me: Sure, but you would have to cut  your hair.

Carmelo: I don't want to cut my hair.

Me: I think we should loc your hair. You can't take locs out, though. You would have to cut them.

Carmelo: Ok, I don't think those would hurt like braids do.

I think I have done Carmelo's hair more times in the last month than I did every six months last year. His hair is curly and will take a while to loc.

Here are some pictures of their new looks.

What is new with you guys?
