Soulful Sunday: H.M.O.W.I.
In honor of my wedding anniversary, here is a poem from Her Muse Overfilled with Ink.
My Rib
Tangled in your words like
Music notes in a staff As minds grow
Winds blow
Our eyes meet and I see
Forgiveness in its purest form
Two hearts smiling
Longer than three suns
Trying to out shine one another
To make us happy
Everyday I hope that you love me
More than the last
The past is the past
And our love is true
We have sat in the same seas
Watching beautiful seeds grow
Winds tickling the sand
My body melts in your hands
Born and raised in the winter cold—bold
With nothing but our hearts song
Keeping us warm
The surgery your smile performs
On my heart and tormented soul
Is a story in itself —untold
As life unfolds
The only thing better than the gift of life
Is the fact that you want to
Spend the rest of your life
Aiming to please me
Painting pictures of hope
And unbreakable love —dope
I asked on bended knee one day
Destiny sent you afloat
And since my life has more meaning
Your ambition compliments
The style that I known
For a while
Caught my eye
Subconsciously made my heart drown
In a sea of free love
Perfection consumes you
While shedding the imperfections
I call the blessing
Of the life long lesson
That with good theres always some bad
But while others are mad
I’m straight
Glad that I have someone
Like you to put this weight on
Staring at your dimples
I get lost in time
More than happy
That I made you mine
Your love for me
Is like wine It gets better with time
The world isn’t even
Ready if it can’t handle
Us and we’re not
Even in our prime
Prepared for all
The adversities the World brings
Our love will still come
Out on top
Like it did
Way before the diamond
Ring
