Hi Ribbies!
We have Danielle Pine here for Motivational Monday !
Today we have Danielle Pine on the Blog. Thank you very much for participating in Motivational Monday (formerly known as Mommy Mondays) , Danielle!
A little back story on Danielle and I and how we met. We worked together when I was a freshman in college working part time at The Loft on Times Square. Danielle and I have informally kept in touch via social media. Fast Forward to the present. We are both Mamas inspired by our villages and growing our families. Danielle is soon to be a mom of two!
I asked Danielle to share her birth story, words to describe her son and advice for moms. To hear more about Danielle, follow @RaveledinBlessings on Instagram for our upcoming interview via IGTV.
Birth Story:
I was 2 days past my due date when my mother in law, sis in law and I spent our Saturday walking around shopping and then stopped at Blockheads for dinner on the way home. Later on that night, I ended up having a stomach ache that wouldn’t stop & kept me up most of the night. That stomach ache then turned into contractions.. I kept counting the time between my contractions and eventually they were about 5 minutes apart so hubby and I got our stuff ready and headed to the hospital. The contractions continued and got more intense, but for some reason little man was not ready to come. They decided to keep me overnight since they said my sac was slowly leaking & wanted to continue to monitor me. The doctor ended up Having to break my water to start the process on Sunday afternoon. By this time I was so exhausted I ended up getting an epidural to help with the pain/ contractions. Somewhere along the line I fell asleep & woke up feeling the need to poop. When I called a nurse, she checked on me and said the baby’s head was starting to come out. She told me not to push as they needed to find the doctor & setup the room. I was like LADY! I cannot NOT push... he’s ready lol
Needless to say, I tried to hold as long as I could & began to push... Finally, Monday morning 10/24 at 6:28 am my beautiful son Joshua Mikhael was born.
Moral of the story is...if anyone is past due, I highly suggest lots of walking & a burrito! Lol
5 Adjectives to describe JP: Leader, energetic, imaginative, sense of humor, helpful
Advice for moms:
Appreciate every moment you have with your child. Even the frustrating ones.. lol they grow up so quickly & it is so fascinating to watch and be apart of their growth. Enjoy the sleepless nights between feedings & pumping. Cherish the quiet moments when it’s just the two of you and your little one is gazing at you. Appreciate the mornings you get them ready for daycare/school, one day they will want to dress themselves & brush their own teeth. Try your best to always be present in the moment and listen to them, even if they are talking about a silly show or their day. Try your best not to get angry or frustrated when they do something wrong or have an accident. I know that they act grown, but we have to remember they are only kids & are not perfect.. hell we are adults and still far from perfect.
Just love them in every way you can & allow them to feel comfortable to be themselves. The world is a very hard place to live - always be their sacred/safe place.
Speak to you all soon!
xoxo,
Shay
