17 Months x Potty Chronicles

Happy Friday!

I have an announcement to make.

Are you all ready?

Tahir turned 17 months yesterday.

Yes, I am that mom. The one that celebrates a milestone today that was not even thought of yesterday. You know, the moms that say their child's age in double-digits until they are two?! As a mom of three, it is vital to me to honor ALL of my children. Nothing is too small to celebrate. While there are things that I have not done for Tahir that I have done for Carmelo and Ajani, such as, scrapbooking and photo books, I pride myself on knowing the signs of illness, potty training and other things that took a while to become a part of my nature as a nurturer.

The Potty Chronicles

Let us rewind to December of 2017 when Tahir turned one. He was walking for a month and a half and had been showing signs of being ready for potty training such as waking up dry from naps. Tahir is still nursing, eating lots of table food and drinks from cups. Therefore, waking up dry was shocking. I put him on the potty every morning when he woke up and tried to remember to do so before his bath as well.

Today, I positioned Tahir's potty in front of me as I sat on the toilet. He squirmed around a bit in an attempt to get comfortable on the potty and then, he popped up. I started to say, "sit" when something said, "look in the potty." Low and behold there was pee in the potty!

Moms, let's strive to be better with each child. If you have only one child, live like there is someone watching you because there is!

Pray for our consistency as I am over diapers!
