HMOI: Trapped in my Thoughts

Happy Thursday Ribbies!

In the midst of traveling, I had to keep my word and give you all another snippet from my book: Her Muse Overfilled with Ink.

Its National Poetry Month, so why not?

This snippet is from ‘Trapped in my Thoughts’ which was the first spoken word piece I ever read in front of people.

Trapped in my Thoughts

Lost in a world that is far from reality

As I live to see faces still full of agony

Recession

Where people tend to get mad at me

For not believing in their truth

He’s a mason, they’re apart of the illuminati

War is the answer

NOT

The government is for us

But where is the proof

Television consumes us

Violence sex and drugs in society can ruin love The love for thy self

Respect for your bodies

This is not poetry

This is our society

If you’re overweight youre not worthy

No matter how great your personality

Or how big your heart may be...

I hope you all enjoyed it. Comment and tell me about your favorite HMOI piece and/ or your favorite poet.

Talk to you soon.

xoxo,
